Youth Ministry
 “What’s Happening for SEAS Teens”

All 6th through 12th graders are invited to one, two, many or all teen gatherings and activities. Teen activities are promoted through the weekly bulletin, youth ministry bulletin board (located in the Narthex), Facebook and e-mail updates.

SEAS Youth Ministry Committee is made up of youth and adults with the specific job of working with the Youth Ministry Coordinator to help plan and evaluate the programming aspects of the youth ministry.

 

             Committee Member – is a teen or adult with the specific role of working with the Youth Minister Coordinator to help define and evaluate the programming and activities for 6th through 12th graders. This is a one year commitment with an average of 4 to 6 meetings.  Looking for at least 5 members
 
Catechist for Jr. High - to lead 6th and 7th grade Faith formation classes and activities, based on prepared “lesson” plan.  This is a year long commitment for about 15 class sessions from September to May.
 
Activity Leader – is an adult who leads, facilitates or assists with specific programs and activities which the Youth Ministry Committee develops. This is a short term commitment with an average of 1 to 2 hours per activity or program.
 
Retreat Team – is composed of adults participating in retreat experiences within the parish or diocese. This is a short term commitment with an average of 4 to 8 hours per activity or program.
 
Chaperone – is an adult who provides assistance as needed to help with specific programs (e.g., chaperoning an event, serving as a “guardian angel” and attending retreats). This is a per diem commitment.
 
Coach – is an adult who will lead or assist in a SEAS team sport such as kickball.
